“Bond of Union”

Let’s learn from our Elder Brothers, the Kogis
instead of showing off with instagram yogis.
I’d be lying if I said, instant gratification isn’t gratifying
but when the dust settles there are issues underlying
like roots which always tell the truth about where they’re from
instead of surface conversations always playing dumb.
One man’s trash is another man’s treasure,
one man’s mop the floor is another man’s ceiling mirror pleasure,
but like aquifers and underground tree-runners it’s all connected,
and these communication systems need to be protected.
So bend your mind-vision like an Escher graphic
be nice to gender-bender brothers and your sisters Sapphic
and remember that birds could navigate by starlight
long before your “OhMyGod the car is talking” GPS megabyte.
Bend your mind-vision like an Escher graphic
instead of road-rage when you’re sitting in traffic.
Bend your mind-vision like an Escher graphic
and stop basing everything on demographics
where everything’s divvied up for marketing and political district
highly efficient but totally unrealistic,
we are all more than labels of culture or skin color—
celebrate diversity or succumb to being duller.
