Good COP, Bad COP Printer friendly page Print This

Indigenous Peoples knocking on slick glass doors
fashioned by Western elites trying to co-opt the COP21
by green-washing their dirty laundry,
protestors protesting even though the thought-police
arrested some before the protests
then tear-gassed those defying the ban,
don’t the thugs know that’s air pollution
and this is a climate conference!
for Spirit’s sake, for Mother Earth’s sake,
enough with the greedhouse gases...
everybody yearning to breathe free.

“the Paris Accord may turn out to be a crime against humanity and Mother Earth”
said Tom Goldtooth (of Indigenous Environmental Network) who recently won
the Gandhi Peace Award, so c’mon you suits, in the lyrical words of Frank Zappa:

    Smoke your little smoke
    Drink your little drink

But make the right choices.

While I dance the night away, I'm a
    Dancin' fool

COP21? How many years does it take
to minimize the planet’s shake & bake?

Listen to the Red Man not the REDD plan,
REDD (Reduced Emissions from Deforestation and forest Degradation)
“designed to allow more extraction and combustion of fossil
fuels for a profit...
Instead of cutting CO2 and
greenhouse gas emissions, the UN, the US, the EU,
China, Norway and climate criminals like
BP, Total, Shell, Chevron, Air France
and BHP Billiton are pushing a false solution to
climate change called REDD.”*

Listen to the Indigenous
Women
closer to the Earth,
giving birth,
feeling the Moon,
watering the plants . . .

Listen to the farmers,
bent backs,
no slackers, putting food
on YOUR table,
enable them to commune
with healthy turf
giving birth to bouncing
baby vegetables,
fruits, herbs, medicines,
that coffee that gets
YOU home long after the
light of day . . .

Listen to the youth
--
who see through the
destructive centuries veil --
their proof is in the
pudding of Mother Earth,
rain moistening Her skin,
seeping in . . .
So let the light seep into divided minds,
make them whole
again.
