The force that through the green fuse drives the flower
                                                           - Dylan Thomas
the light green grasses
emerging with Springtime
then deeper greening into Summertime

the plethora of plant-lives
growing from Sunlight,
from warm soil and air,
moisture and kindness

forests of evergreen and pine,
and leaf-bearing trees,
tropical green birds

heart chakras
glowing pulsating green
like summer grass
yet brighter
like emerald,
yet brighter
like emerald on fire

green moss,
ferns and vines and lime,
peridot and jade and waters

ALL the plants and leaves
      so many greens

             green
before money was invented
and lettuces, broccoli, asparagus,
brussels sprouts, cabbage, parsley,
mint and all their kin
were the only currency

Mankh (Walter E. Harris III) is an essayist and resident poet at Axis of Logic. In addition to his work as a writer and small press publisher, he travels a holistic mystic pathway staying in touch with Turtle Island. See his new book of nonfiction with a poetic touch, “photo albums of the heart-mind”.
