If I were Juan Guaidó, I'd be looking for a place to hide Printer friendly page Print This

I don't know Juan Guaidó, so I don't know if he is as stupid as he seems. So let's give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he's just naive beyond all belief, but not really a complete idiot - despite what the evidence seems to show.

If he really isn't stupid, it ought to have occurred to him by now that he's a dead man walking.

The silly charade he's been playing ever since he declared himself to be the Interim President of Venezuela - apparently, actually running for the job isn't necessary in his mind - has been an utter disaster.

The other guy who considers himself to be the President of Venezuela - Nicolás Maduro, the guy who DID run for the job and won it handily - is right about at least one thing. That is, Guaidó is a patsy in a US-orchestrated coup attempt.

When he first started this nonsense, the vast majority of Venezuelans had no idea who Juan Guaidó was. And now that they've had a chance to see him in action, what they've seen has been grossly underwhelming. In fact, it hasn't been whelming at all.

It must be occurring to Señor Guaidó by now that the creeps in Washington who are pulling his strings can't be very happy with him. He has failed in every measure: he still is only the 'Interim' President of Venezuela; he has failed to dislodge the guy that Venezuelans gave the job to; he has failed to deliver the world's largest proven oil reserves into the hands of the world's greediest country. In short, he has turned out to be useless for the US.

If I were Guaidó, I would be looking over my shoulder. A lot. Because even someone so stupid - er, naive - as Guaidó, should be able to sketch out the next move by the United States.

Guaidó has to die. He needs to killed so the US can claim that Maduro - maybe even Maduro personally - has murdered the 'Interim' President, who was really the legitimate president (even though he never was).

And then ... well, maybe that would be enough to turn international opinion to supporting an invasion of some sort to restore democracy in Venezuela - you know, the democracy that they apparently didn't use to actually elect the guy that THEY chose.

If this seems farfetched, you haven't been paying attention: the US is - by a long shot - the most evil country the world has ever seen and nothing illegal, immoral, perverse, or sickening is outside of their bag of tricks.

Even Guaidó must have some inkling that his usefulness is over.

Now would be a good time to hide.
