The president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) and president of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, on Tuesday assured that the time has come to go out and win, to rescue the National Assembly (AN), to demonstrate where the power of the people really is, so he said during the official presentation of the 554 candidates.
He added that a block of important leaders in the country has been formed, peasants, community members, honest businessmen, youth, women, and leaders committed to the country.
As president of the PSUV he said, "The electoral power has complied with the feelings of the people. These parliamentary elections are of an obligatory nature and whether rain, thunder or lightning, they must be done by constitutional obligation.
"We need a new National Assembly that is going to rescue Citgo, that goes after the gold in London, that sets the tone for the recovery of the oil industry and that responds to the feelings of the people. I ask the candidates to tell the truth, to go to the people with the truth."
Nicolás Maduro, welcomed the call through the new normal of videoconferencing, also thanked all the candidates at the national level for participating.
He added, "I salute this modality of holding political and electoral events, with full freedoms and guarantees, in this time of pandemic, protecting themselves and everyone. It is an example that the Great Patriotic Pole is setting!"
He said that for the elections there is extraordinary power of force and that he trusts the candidates. "We have the union of the historic bloc with 99% of the support to go towards a great change."
He highlighted that of 24 elections that have been held in the country, the Bolivarian Revolution has won 22 electoral processes. "We have known how to win, we have known how to lose, but we have always known how to participate," he said.
International attack
He denounced that Europe is trying to raise a campaign with Venezuelan political factors, to manipulate the elections and generate an opinion matrix through which the elections are suspended.
Maduro also denounced Henrique Capriles Radonski for leading an international electoral campaign to sabotage the elections and not participate. He said, "I have beaten Capriles twice, they did the same thing in 2005, they sabotaged and lost.
"They are trying to raise a campaign from Europe and from some political factors desperate to sabotage the December 6 elections by trying to impose an opinion matrix to suspend the elections."
The Head of State declared that Donald Trump, president of the United States, gave the order to sabotage the parliamentary elections in Venezuela:
"Here in Venezuela Donald Trump will not decide on December 6, Iván Duque, a foreigner [in Colombia] will not decide, nor a traitor to the Homeland here in Venezuela. I call on all the people to decide and elect a new National Assembly."
Vaccines for candidatesPresident Maduro reported that this September the first vaccines from Russia arrive for clinical trials and in October more vaccines will arrive, for which he proposed to analyze the possibility of vaccinating candidates so that they can calmly campaign, get into the neighborhoods and share with the people in a safer way. "I'll put it under consideration," he said.
Finally, the president also reported that the first individuals involved in selling medicines to combat Covid-19 which are given to the people free of charge by the national government have been arrested.
