superbowl sunday
worldwide wrestling federation
bread lines & circus
are we not having enough fun-house-mirrors yet?

stat this stat that
percentage this all those numbers that
bat-shat cray-cray
flunking the test
never gonna graduate from electoral college

did you take debate
or did you leave the big cheese in the big trap?
my advice, leave the big cheese
because we’re all little mice just trying to avoid
the big cheese lab experiments

so long the waits in lines
reports of customer-citizens
not knowing the difference between fastfood and voting
the difference between the line to vote
and the line for the drive-thru free lunches sans martinis
if only special sauce coulda been a write-in candidate
because this is the most important cheeseburglar
of our times

how low can you do the limbo
of the lesser of two egos go?
ok ok I know
some differences
ok ok I know
people have different takes
about the takers

but but as an aside
what we all could be
paying attention to is
this that and everything
here there and everywhere
as above so below
and vicegrip on the poetic versa
so this is my write-in having a ballot
do i mail or feemail it in?
if only gender fluid coulda been a write-in candidate

this may read like gibberish
but if you read between my waiting in lines
you’ll catch my drifting in a sailboat
thru a microplastics sea
because of waiting in lines
while the plankton, the fish, the smiling dolphins
(remember the smiling dolphins?),
the seaweed,
the water itself
gasp
for a clean home
a bright future
starting
now!
