The president of the National Assembly, deputy Jorge Rodríguez, reported this Sunday that the leader of the Venezuelan extreme right Leopoldo López planned and ordered a bomb attack on the headquarters of the Federal Legislative Palace and that it would be carried out during an ordinary session of parliament.
Rodríguez pointed out that last week, the intelligence bodies managed to capture an individual who intended to carry out a terrorist attack with bombs at the headquarters of the Federal Legislative Palace.
“Even from Spain, Mr. Leopoldo López planned a bomb attack on the headquarters of the National Assembly of Venezuela. We are going to show all the evidence, and the person who was going to place the explosive devices in the middle of a session of the AN who was captured last week,” Rodríguez emphasized.
He said that representatives of the Spanish government should rule on these acts.
“The Spanish Parliament and President Sánchez must address this series of events at the Spanish Embassy in Venezuela. It is also clear that Colombian President Iván Duque protects all types of criminal actions in Colombia”.
During a press conference, the President of Parliament presented evidence about the participation of opponents Leopoldo López and Juan Guaidó in conspiratorial plans against our country, with the support of the Colombian government of Iván Duque.
Rodríguez showed a video of the deserter, former captain Juan Gutiérrez Aranguren, recently captured by the Venezuelan security agencies, who confessed to his training in three camps in Colombia, located in Río Hacha, Santa Marta and La Goajira, for armed incursions against our territory.
Deputy Rodríguez indicated that López and Guaidó have been involved in the training of deserters, assassins and paramilitaries in Colombia, as well as maintaining alliances with Colombian drug paramilitaries "who live on the western border of Venezuela with Colombia", specifically in the region of La Goajira and Norte de Santander.
Their objective was to plan conspiratorial operations that included the assassination of the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, senior representatives of the public powers and civilians.
During the mercenary terrorist raid in May 2020 off the coast of Macuto, La Guaira state, Gutiérrez Aranguren was traveling in one of the two boats, which did not reach the coast, Rodríguez said.
Once the plan was revealed, this deserter was left in the coastal city of Puerto Cruz and from there he took refuge in a mountainous area, to later travel to La Guaira and from there to Caracas. Later, he tried to go to Colombia but was captured by the security forces of our country.
Later, he made a voluntary confession, availing himself of the denunciation system stipulated in Venezuelan law, corroborating the complaints made by the Bolivarian Government in recent months.
There, he narrated that he graduated as an officer in the class of 2010 and after performing various tasks, he was assigned to the National Center for Military Prosecutors, in Ramo Verde, Miranda state, where he was in charge of the custody of Leopoldo López.
In that place he and López developed an affinity and on February 28, 2019, he answered the call of Guaidó, "from the governments of Donald Trump and Iván Duque" and deserted from the Bolivarian National Armed Forces.
This is how he traveled to Colombia where he was contacted by López, who invited him to train in a Maicao camp, with the purpose "of overthrowing President Nicolás Maduro."
The president of Parliament informed that a Special Commission will be created to investigate all the conspiracies that have been planned from Colombia against Venezuela.
