Say nice things to them,
do good deeds to help them out
but nothing sticks.
Oh, they’re appreciative
in the moment
like fried eggs on a Sunday morning
but by Monday
they’re saying false things about you.
Deep down they know and if pressed would say,
‘oh yeah, he’s a nice guy’ but their agenda
rules their day
so they forget,
only the eye on their prize,
only the salivation
for their little slice of the pie.
Am not sure where these humans are racing to
but seems they want to fit into the Human Race
rather than the Human Being.
Springtime
and The Teflon People ornament
the outsides of their houses,
making things ‘look nice’ –
as if the Earth wasn’t nice already,
as if the beauty was their achievement
to kick back and enjoy,
without giving back.
For The Teflon People
the only thing that sticks
is the veneer.
PS. “1,500 drinking water systems, supplying 110 million citizens across the United States are laced with nonstick “forever chemicals” like perfluorooctanoic acid and perfluorooctanesulfonic acid.” *
