two sides of the coin of the realm
but it’s the same coin that’s at the helm,
Trump in love with the sound of his name
while Biden can barely remember the same

heads they win, tails we lose
even though some say we choose,
two sides of the coin of the realm
but it’s the same corporate coin at the helm

Biden’s BuildBackBetter backing
Endbridge’s Line 3 tar sands pipeline
approved by President Trump,
a new bottle with the same old wine

the sommelier-in-chief still drunk with power
thirsty for a bitumen high
a thick, sticky black oil addiction
feeding a campaign promise lie

it’s a “racist pipeline” says Winona LaDuke,
the People defending Native water and wild rice,
when it comes to the survival of the climate
you can’t just play roll the dice!

two sides of the coin of the realm
but it’s the same corporate coin at the helm,
so toss that coin and make a wish
defend the foods, the birds and fish

toss that coin and say a prayer
for the wetlands and the water there,
toss that coin and make a wish
for what the Spirit not the coin can accomplish
