The Minister for Petroleum of Venezuela, Tareck El Aissami, reported this Thursday that the terrorist attack perpetrated against the Amuay oil refinery is presumed to have been carried out with a remote missile, possibly launched from a drone or a boat.

"It is a deliberate terrorist act, brutally planned surgically, cruelly to cause damage to strategic objectives, fundamentally to this plant, Plant 4 that significantly affects the operations of the Paraguaná Refining Center (CRP) of our main oil industry," he said.

He explained that there is evidence of an explosion that has “an impact front and an internal and external projection to the plant, the steel sheets according to their thickness and dimension determine the magnitude of the explosion where we presume the use of a remote missile, possibly launched from a drone, called a drone, or a watercraft.

El Aissami recounted the events that preceded this attack. On September 11, the US citizen, Matthew John Heat, was captured in Falcón state. At the time of his arrest, he was carrying weapons, explosive material (different C4 panels), satellite phones, among other weapons of war.

He also said that in recent weeks, “we have registered a total of 87 attacks on the electrical system in Falcón state, which also feeds the CRP, as well as acts of sabotage to the water systems associated with the Amuay and Cardón refineries and with the intention of affecting the industrial services necessary to guarantee the operations of the CRP, that is, there was a chain of events that led to the action perpetrated last Tuesday.

He reported that a technical investigation committee has been appointed "to determine what was or from where this missile was launched so that it had hit this plant at our Amuay refinery."

The minister considered it regrettable to have to denounce this terrorist act, which is added to the file of our beloved PDVSA, and which has also been placed at the center of the aggressions and unilateral coercive measures of the United States government.

"Not only do they persecute us, they block us, the United States government prevents us from buying, selling, trading our crude, acquiring spare parts, technology, chemical additives, but it is also silent and favors terrorist groups to commit these acts against our industry" , rejected El Aissami.

"We repudiate on behalf of the Bolivarian Government, the oil working class, this new regrettable fact and this terrorist attack against one of the fundamental plants of CRP," he stressed.

However, he said that despite this vile action by terrorist groups linked to the Venezuelan extreme right, "we are going to guarantee the operational continuity of the CRP and the production of gasoline."

Venezuela is producing, not only national demand, we are above national consumption in gasoline production, and we are keeping strategic reserves and inventories.

"We are accumulating and saving gasoline as part of the reserves necessary to sustain any type of actions by the extreme right or any terrorist group that seeks to destabilize the peace, tranquility and tranquility of the Venezuelan people," he said.

"Gasoline will continue to be produced by our workers, in our refineries, and we are going ahead, they are not going to stop us," said El Aissami, who commented that the attacks on the industry rather "fill us with greater strength, we it commits even more to continue advancing in the definitive liberation of our homeland ».

"The terrorists who carried out this action have united us in love, in a commitment to patriotism with our working class and that same plant we are going to recover very soon and it will be working again to continue increasing the productive potential of CRP," he said.

"We guarantee the production and distribution of gasoline to our entire country," said the minister, noting that in the path of violence "they will find us united: Bolivarian National Armed Forces, Venezuelan people, oil working class to continue advancing in absolute recovery of our powerful industry.
