the fundamental failure
of flawed men and
politicians
leaves human wreckage scattered
across a countryside
for when morals break and
decency takes forever
to be remembered
and the value of a human soul
becomes secondary
to the pursuit of preemptive war
as torture and rape ripen
on the vine of vulgarity
and any similarity
to clarity of purpose
is a smudged and blurry line
that was crossed a long way back
in time
thus time becomes the master
of accountability and
demands payment in full
